List of Big Companies Accepting Bitcoin as Payment [Updated List]

1. Microsoft.

Microsoft is an American multinational technology company started by Bill Gates and Paul Allen back on April 4, 1975.

Since 2014, Microsoft accepting Bitcoin in its Windows and Xbox stores.

An Interesting fact is they paused Bitcoin acceptance twice in 2016 and 2018 because the Bitcoin price become soo volatile at that time. But soon the decision was overturned as well.

Money added to a Microsoft account using Bitcoins can’t be refunded.

2. PayPal.

PayPal is a famous worldwide online money transfer company started in 1998, but in 2002 PayPal became a subsidiary of eBay.

They are the first company to begin accepting cryptocurrencies as payment for transactions completed through them.

That means you cannot use cryptocurrencies directly in PayPal but through payment processors such as Coinbase, BitPay, you can able to use cryptocurrencies.

For example, if you’re a trader who trades in cryptocurrencies then you can connect your PayPal account to the Coinbase account easily to withdraw or deposit cash to Coinbase.

Similarly, you can use a Bitpay Prepaid Visa card with any PayPal merchant also you can withdraw any crypto fund to a PayPal account using SpicePay.

But in 2020 PayPal announced they will enter the cryptocurrency market, and at the end of 2020, they allowed US customers to hold or buy and sell Bitcoin and other cryptos.

Dish Network is an American based corporation of a direct broadcast satellite.

In 2014 they started to accept Bitcoin as a payment for their services at that time they are the world’s largest firm accepting Bitcoins for its services.

Recently they added Bitcoin Cash along with Bitcoin as a payment option which means now Dish customers can use both cryptocurrencies to pay for monthly subscriptions and pay-per-view movies.

5. KFC.

KFC, also known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, is an American fast-food restaurant chain.

It is the world’s second-largest restaurant chain with 22,621 locations globally in 136 countries.

But they don’t accept cryptocurrencies all over the world. However, they started to accept Bitcoin in Canada and Dash in Venezuela.

In January 2018, KFC Canada launched the Bitcoin Bucket, which allowed customers to buy a bucket of chicken with bitcoin.

Virgin Galactic is a commercial space flight venture created by Billionaire entrepreneur Richard Branson.

In 2013 Richard announced that Virgin Galactic accepts Bitcoin as payment because he believes that his company is a futuristic company and Bitcoin has managed to become an innovative futuristic currency.

That means you can pay in Bitcoin for an exciting and unique trip.

7. Wikipedia.

Majority of times if you search for any information online Wikipedia comes as the first result.

Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia, created and edited by volunteers around the world and hosted by Wikimedia Foundation.

Wikimedia is a non-profit foundation which means they accept donations to run the Wikipedia website.

Since 2014 Wikimedia started to accept Bitcoin(BTC) donations via Coinbase but recently switched payment processors to Bitpay and used this opportunity to expand into accepting Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

Now Wikimedia accepts donations in Bitcoin(BTC) and Bitcoin Cash(BCH).

8. Dell.

Dell is one of the largest technology corporations in the world, also it is one of the largest personal computer companies in the US.

They started accepting Bitcoins in 2014 on their website Dell.com for that they integrated with Coinbase.

According to Coinbase, so far, Dell is the largest e-commerce company to officially accept Bitcoin means you can go to the Dell website and order anything from there using Bitcoin.

According to Coinbase, over 48,000 businesses accept cryptocurrencies as payment.

Chepair is an American company established in 1989. It provides booking services for Flights and Hotels.

They first started to accept Bitcoin in 2013 and have never stopped since.

Like many companies, they also integrated with Coinbase for accepting Bitcoin payments.

Later CEO Elon musk confirmed that they’re planning to accept Bitcoin payments, and on March 24, 2021, Elon tweeted now they’re accepting Bitcoin payments in the US.

Moreover, many news outlets confirmed that Tesla’s Bitcoin payments have not converted to fiat, and the option will also be made available outside the U.S. later this year.

But unfortunately, Elon tweeted to confirm they halted Bitcoin payments.

Recently this American giant multinational telecom conglomerate has partnered with Bitpay to allow users to pay bills in Bitcoin(BTC) and BitcoinCash(BCH) using the company’s online platform.
At this moment, the partnership with Bitpay only works with the telecom company’s bill pay services.

Subway:
Some Subway stores are now accepting Bitcoin payments, so make sure next time you visit any Subway store to check Bitcoin payment option available or not.

Namecheap:
Namecheap provides services of the domain and hosting registrations, from 2013 they started accepting Bitcoin payments for any Domain, Hosting, SSL certificates, and WhoisGaurd purchase.

Online electronics retailers now accept Bitcoin payments with the help of Bitpay.

OkCupid:
OkCupid is an online dating company that accepts Bitcoin payment for Paid accounts now you can search for a perfect partner using Bitcoin😉.

Gyft:
Gyft is a leading online gift card platform where you can buy, sell, and redeem gift cards from any device, now they offering Bitcoin payments to buy gift cards.

Alza.cz:
It is a very famous e-commerce company in the Czech Republic and Slovakia now accepting Bitcoin payments for that they partnered with BTC payment gateway Bitcoinpay and Trezor hardware wallet.

It is a Japanese electronic e-commerce giant firstly it started to accept Bitcoin in 2015 on the American version of its site and recently it acquired Everybody’s Bitcoin to launch their crypto exchange.

As the name shows that it is a VPN service provider, they started to accept Bitcoin in 2014 for their VPN subscription.

Pizza Hut:
In 2020 Pizza Hut started to accept Bitcoin payments in all Venezuela stores.

Naughty America:
Naughty America is an adult entertainment accepting Bitcoin for its subscription.
