  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • Fresh thyme sprigs for garnish
  • Optional: Crushed walnuts or pecans for garnish

Instructions

  • Slice halloumi cheese into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the halloumi slices for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  • In a saucepan, combine honey, lemon juice, and water over low heat to create the glaze.
  • Drizzle the honey glaze over the fried halloumi and garnish with fresh thyme and optional nuts.

Notes

  • Serving Tip: Best served immediately while the halloumi is hot and crispy.
  • Flavor Boost: For an herby glaze, steep thyme in the honey mixture for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Pairing: Serve with crusty bread or a fresh arugula salad.
